Welcome Everyone!

The season is uponst me! My odd little hobby of raising Monarch Butterlies has now gone into high gear and upon persistent urging...I have finally begun to put down all of the excitement that will take place over the next 6 weeks or so.
Thank-you very much for reading this blog and perhaps you will find yourself wanting to help a critter on this planet that needs help.

Time to get caught up!

Hello my fellow 'pillar lovers!

Alas, I have had to deal with the inanities of Dr. appts so I am a bit behind.  However, I will endeavour to get caught up today.

1.  Cleopatra is in her Chrysalis and I am anticipating the morph into butterfly to be complete July 20-22.

2.  Welcome out to the new members of the Striped Crew:

Spideman
Alpha Omega
Leo
Sophie Western
Dude and Dudette
Romeo and Juliette
Muse

Welcome to all of my new Stripers - glad that they have made it this far.

Note:  Gone to the Land of Abundant Milkweed is Wilbur.  Valiant little one tried, but more than likely a mite had infested the egg.    Long Live Wilbur.

3.  Call Out to my neighbour - their first caterpillar to spin off just happened yesterday!  George made his silk pad and is now in the J Position. So exciting for them!

4.  Hotel Luxor Catipillia  has 4 guests:

Isis
Hatshepsut and Amenhotep
Tutankhamen

**I tried to have Adonis and Aphrodite as well, but found that 6 'pillars on the loose was

a/  rather difficult for me the human to keep track up.    They know how to hide most extraordinarily.

b/   first time I have seen this, but there is competition fall-out from having so many in one contained area.    When they meet, they rear up off of their front legs and kinda "bash" against each other.   The winning caterpillar gets to move on.    It was quite bizarre yet a privilege as I have not seen this happen before.   And being in captivity, I was able to see this.      SO, I removed Adonis and Aphrodite and will wait until they are a bit bigger and make a new hotel to start them off in.

All a good learning process for myself.

More to come!

Thank-you for reading.

MNN
