Welcome Everyone!

The season is uponst me! My odd little hobby of raising Monarch Butterlies has now gone into high gear and upon persistent urging...I have finally begun to put down all of the excitement that will take place over the next 6 weeks or so.
Thank-you very much for reading this blog and perhaps you will find yourself wanting to help a critter on this planet that needs help.

Where was Magnus Maximus going?

Oh My!

I checked on my new 'pillars tonight and came upon one little one making a run for it.

When he was not on his leaf  (little new ones rarely leave their birth leaf in my captive situation)...I panicked.

First, I worried that he went into the land of "Abundant Milkweed".      I only name my little ones once they seem to be together and thriving, so this would have been extremely vexing.

Then, my stomach dropped thinking that he became a feline "amuse-bouche".

And well,  thank-gosh,  neither of the above.

Magnus Maximus had made a run   -   right into the  paper towel that is under his birth leaf and lining the plastic container.

And not just right into the paper towel...I mean, right INTO the paper towel.

I finally found him in the folds of the end where I tuck the leaf end  (I make folds at the end of my containers  where the leaf end goes and ensure that the leaf end has top and bottom moisture coverage this way).

After isolating a small piece of the paper towel he was on, I safely put him back onto his leaf.

I hope he stays there.

BTW - CalRey...Was Magnus Maximus one of "those" Roman Generals that got his troops lost in Germania or something?     Wondering if  his namesake is trying to relive any of those glorious episodes?

Thank-you for reading and more drama, excitement and stripes to come.

MNN
