Welcome Everyone!
The season is uponst me! My odd little hobby of raising Monarch Butterlies has now gone into high gear and upon persistent urging...I have finally begun to put down all of the excitement that will take place over the next 6 weeks or so.
Thank-you very much for reading this blog and perhaps you will find yourself wanting to help a critter on this planet that needs help.

Anthony in my hand today - 1 3/4" long and approx 1/2 " wide.
This was a highlight tonight - holding Anthony in my hand. I was re-orienting him into his Hotel Catipillia and he had consumed almost an entire 4" long leaf and that was all on that stalk, so it was needed to move him. They are much more "robust" in feeling than I thought. His antennae lightly touched my hand.
Was a very memorable experience.
I placed him on a new Milkweed leaf. And then he did his aforementioned "roll" around this remaining piece before moving on.
Thank-you for reading and happy Monarch viewing over this weekend if you live in Monarch territory. If not - go out and enjoy any of the lovely, amazing butterflies out there.

When I was in California, I saw a monarch butterfly. Wondered if any were yours. Very cool bugs you play with!
ReplyDeleteThank-you!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately not - you get the West group and I get the East Group.
Sitting here tonight listening to Anthony and Cleopatra munch...munch...munch...I can hear them if everything is quiet. It is cool.
